Most of my paintings simply come about while I'm painting.
This one was different. The inspiration came from nature this time.
I sat on a bench in the warm spring sunshine and closed my eyes.
Do you know that feeling when you look at the sun with your eyes closed?
It is incredibly bright and it feels as if the whole body is flooded with this energy.
That was the idea behind this picture.
I painted it with lots of gold, and as soon as the sun, or even just light, shines on it, it's as if the sun is rising. It begins to glow and floods the entire room with this solar energy.
